
About the Fellowship
Electoral politics in Bharat is a grassroots exercise and needs immense manpower. Kshetra works to bring in inclusivity and technology blend to optimise the resources to make it cadre and people centric. At Kshetra we work to collect people’s aspirations across the state, Parliament and assemblies enabling a constructive engagement democracy for policy-making process by working with civil society, NGOs, and local body representatives.
Bharat Elects Janshakti Fellowship aims is to support community mobilisation to drive the political landscape with development orientation. The ethos of Kshetra is to create cross-movement work, re-imagine electing a party and a leader with a vision, and support public participation in building better democracy and leadership. It is designed to deliver skills in grassroots engagement, op-ed intelligence writing, presentations, field experience working with political leadership and parliament contestants.

Through this fellowship we as an organization facilitate a platform for young professionals to work closely with public representatives to contribute to good governance initiatives. For this fellowship we are seeking politically passionate and socially driven individuals to join our team to work in multiple verticals like Core Public Policy, Core Political Consulting, Economics Governance & Schemes, Civil Society, Organisation development, Media & Journalism, including Influencer Outreach and Research & Content writing.
Eligibility Criteria
Selection Process
Step 1
Application
Students submit their project work, relevant past experience, and resume for evaluation. Shortlisted candidates then move on to the next round of assessments based on fit and alignment with our initiatives.
Step 2
Assignment
After the application submission stage, candidates are given an assignment to gauge their real-world experience, a crucial step in our selection process. This allows us to assess their practical skills and suitability for the role.
Step 3
Interview
Finally, candidates move to an online interview as part of our evaluation process at Kshetra. This interview allows us to assess their interpersonal communication skills and assess their fitness in consideration to our organizational values.
Roles And Responsibilities
As part of fellowship, candidates are supposed to perform following tasks:

Enable research and data-driven policy insights to MLA’s.

Enabling the MLAs to understand policy complexities through insightful demonstration.

Conducting workshops on capacity building of MLAs on contemporary policy issues, including Employment, funds, and state resources.

Drafting research-backed legislative speeches and press releases for MLAs.

Facilitating information regarding cross-state issues with the help of existing legislation.

Presenting innovative solutions for shaping robust policies.
04.
Represent existing 'local needs' based best practices to be utilized to tackle governance issues using best global reference points.

Suggesting transformative and innovative model framework to assure maximum participation of citizens.

Providing data on PRI demands/needs for governance reforms by conducting townhalls.

Is the fellowship

Yes, the Bharat Elects Fellowship is a paid, full-time program. Fellows will receive a monthly stipend to cover basic living and travel expenses during their fieldwork. The standard duration of the fellowship is two to three months, with a possibility of extension based on performance, project requirements, and mutual agreement.
